I don't mind if you share my story. I hope it inspires others to start their journeys as well! I am 32 years old and have been overweight/obese since I was a teen. Binge eating has always been an issue for me and so I would lose 20-30 pounds, only to gain it all back and then some. My parents both passed away in 2014 due to issues with diabetes, COPD, and heart disease. 2014 was also the year that I had my daughter and she was born with blood sugar issues (due to my poor eating habits and not taking care of my gestational diabetes during pregnancy), and had to be flown to another hospital for treatment immediately. She is healthy now, but it breaks my heart that I put her through that to begin with. I knew if I didn't make a drastic change, I too would be suffering the same fate as my parents. I couldn't do that to my family, especially my baby girl.
I have adopted a healthy diet focused on meats, veggies, fruits and whole grains. The surgery was an amazing opportunity to get my life back on track and I have done my part in making the tool work for me. I exercise 5-6 days a week and it has become a habit that I love. I look forward to going to the gym or for a run after work. I never in my life thought that I would be able to say that. I intend on losing another 22lbs to get me to 150 and then at that point I'll re-access my goals from there. In the end, I just want to be healthy.
I appreciate everything BeLiteWeight did for me on my journey to a better me!"
