I decided on bariatric surgery after being diagnosed with PCOS, I was told I would not be able to conceive without losing a substantial amount of weight. I had other reasons for wanting to lose weight obviously but having a child was the main goal. I lost 100lbs within a year of having surgery. My starting weight was 286lbs and I weighed in on my one year anniversary at 183lbs. On a bigger note to me though, my birth control actually failed two months post surgery so three weeks before my one year anniversary I gave birth to my daughter.
