Dear BeLiteWeight, these are my before and after pictures 22 months post-op, (better late than never :-) I will always be ready to praise Dr. Jose Rodriguez expertise; I'm an RN in the OR and I questioned him on the phone. He uses the same products we use in my hospital in Texas.

My experience with BeLiteWeight has been nothing short of life changing and quite possibly life saving. It's the most pleasant surprise I've had in a long time. When I say "surprise," I mean it was everything promised and much more. I have battled with my weight my entire life. I've been on every diet, pill and fad that has ever been conceived to lose weight--I lost about 100 lbs. a couple of times, I've probably lost and regained 500 lbs. in my lifetime.
About a year ago, I decided that I needed something that was permanent and worked for weight loss and I had been researching bariatric surgeries for quite some time. Every doctor and hospital that I contacted in Texas was the same thing, the first thing they wanted to know was "what kind of insurance do you have?" When I told them that my insurance had an exclusion to bariatric surgery they suddenly weren't as interested in me as they were before. Paying the full $30,000 was not an option for me.
Then one day, I got on the internet and low and behold there it was, BeLiteWeight. I clicked on the website and found the solution to my problem, or had I? At that point I thought, "you know what have you got to lose Terry?" To do nothing was not an option at all. So I filled out the info form and sent it in. Then I got busy with my life and had forgot about it to be honest, but a couple of days later I got a phone call from, what I now refer to as "my guardian angel," Teri Biga. She introduced herself and I immediately knew she was very knowledgeable about what she was doing, as well as, patient and caring. From that moment on, I was treated that way by everyone in the organization. I asked for referrals and they were immediately sent to me, along with all the information about the costs. I was blown away by the difference in cost of this versus what it did it America.
But Mexico? Because of the bad stories in the media whether or not this was a smart move or not. Never having been a quitter, I called the people on the referral list one at a time and over and over it was the same answer "it really is all they say it is, and I would go do it again tomorrow." So armed with all this new information, I decided I was all in. I called Teri and told her that I wanted to schedule my surgery and from that moment on it was all about me. The service was absolutely personal and professional from that point forward, outstanding, the best.
In June 2011, my wife and I headed west to begin our adventure and we were off to Juarez, Mexico at the Star Medica Hospital. We were met by smiles and one of the cleanest hospitals I've ever seen. We were immediately checked in and shown to our room which was very nice and once again extremely clean. I was then given the pre-ops, which was very professionally done by some of the nicest nurses I've ever known.
Then the Doctors all came in and we talked about the procedure and they answered all my questions, in perfect English. There are no words to describe how much I like Dr. Jose Rodriguez. He is the kind of person you have to meet to truly appreciate. He genuinely cares about you as a patient and a person, his bedside manner is second to none, not to mention an excellent surgeon. He was awesome. When I woke up in recovery they continued to monitor me constantly and then I was taken back to my room. The care I received for the next 3 days was amazing, I never had to wait for anything. All medications were given on time and every time we needed something, it was seen to immediately, again with a smile.
It has been 8 weeks since my surgery and I have never felt better. I have lost 52 lbs. and 2 sizes in pants.* I no longer have to take blood pressure or cholesterol medications and I can walk 2 miles a day which would have been impossible before surgery.* I have probably taken the long way around in telling my story, but I feel it is very important for anyone trying to decide on having this surgery done to have as much information as possible to help put their mind at ease. The surgery itself is only a tool and you still have to put in the work, but it is by far the best thing I have ever done for me and my family. I'd like to assure anyone out there that may be hesitant, that you will not be sorry you had this done. A positive attitude will help you more than anything else and it is what you get when you call BeLiteWeight. They will stay with you every step of the way. I could not be more pleased with my experience with all involved.
Thanks again and God Bless.
Terry

I am the definition of a roller coaster dieter. Every time I had a baby (I had 4) I would go on a new diet then gain twice of what I lost. I wanted to the gastric sleeve, but because my insurance changed the policies every year it would not cover it. The cheapest, but best surgery I could find would cost me about $20,000, which was too expensive for me, but I was set on this surgery, so I started saving.
Through research, I found that many people were traveling to Mexico to get the surgeries done. This is how I was introduced to BeLiteWeight. From the moment I started talking to my patient facilitator, it was a no-brainer. My patient facilitator gave me a list of people who had the surgeries done and they gave me the extra support I needed to make my decision. In just three weeks of my surgery, I have been off all of my diabetes and heart medicine and feel so much better. The hospital was great, it was like I was staying in a five-star resort! If I had to go back and have anything else done, I would go straight back there. While I was there, I was not nervous, had no reservations of doing my surgery and I am going with my friend when she gets her surgery done to see the doctors again. I had better care there, than any other hospital in the United States. I am looking forward to what this surgery will do for me and would recommend the services of BeLiteWeight to anyone.

I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I was always around 140 lbs. in high school and after I graduated I was married and had a baby. When I delivered my daughter I was about 220 lbs. I was wanting to have the bariatric surgery, I did not have the funds to afford it. I have tried every diet possible, but an opportunity came where I was fortunate enough to have the funds to have the procedure.
I started researching on what procedure to have and because I am a registered nurse who works in surgery, I was able to understand the different surgeries. The one that seemed to fit me was the vertical gastric sleeve. Next, was where to have it done. I had looked at a local hospital who had a great reputation for bariatric surgeries, but it was going to cost $15,000. I had extra money but not that much so I started researching going to Mexico. I had had several friends that had gone to different parts of Mexico for surgery and they had good experiences.
I contacted several different companies for the weight loss surgery. The first one to contact me was BeliteWeight. My patient facilitator contacted me by email and told her of my dilemma. She sent me all kinds of information about the doctor and a list of people who had had surgery in Mexico.
I decided to go to Juarez, Mexico to have the surgery in March 2011 and my journey began! I flew into El Paso, Texas and BeliteWeight picked me up and took me to the hospital. As soon as I got in the room everyone came in and started getting me ready. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Leticia Solis, came and introduced herself. She was very compassionate. She came and sat by me held my hand and told all that was going to happen. Afterwards, I was taken down to surgery which was only about 30 minutes long!
After surgery, everything went well. The first day there was a lot of gas pain, but nurses were very considerate and took very good care of me. Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his team were very attentive, they came by everyday.
The whole time I felt very safe. My family was very worried about being kidnapped by drug dealers. I confident in my safety. The whole group worked very hard to make you feel safe from the driver in the car to the hospital staff. There were guards in the lobby of the hospital at all times.
As of May 22, 2011 I have lost 46 lbs.!!!* The thing about losing weight to me is it is a mind game. When you get to that point that you decide that surgery is the only way then that is half the battle. As for me I am very conscious of what I eat and how much. The only snag I have found is that eating at work is very difficult. Like I said I work in surgery so I can't eat whenever I want to. The people I work with are very supportive and helpful. They give me breaks if possible to get a sensible snack. I carry my lunch now and make sure I have enough for the day. I would recommend BeliteWeight to anyone. I have told people great things about this group and hope everyone has great success like I have had!!!!!

I had done WeightWatchers, bought all the over-the-counter weight loss aids, nothing worked. I had high blood pressure and both of my parents died young, scaring me to what the outcome of my future was. I am blessed with three beautiful grandchildren and wanted to be healthy for them so I could watch them grow. My goal was to be able to be active, go on roller coaster rides, ride bikes with them, and I could not have done this with out the help of BeliteWeight.
I was nervous to get my lap band procedure done in Mexico because you hear all the bad stuff going on, but it was affordable. After going, I feel somewhat silly for ever being nervous, there was no issue with the language barrier. Being a nurse and used to hospitals, I was so impressed with the professionalism of everyone here and how clean and caring everyone was. I got to the point where I would not go out because we live in an "image-is-everything" world, now I love going out and am able to ride bikes with my grandchildren! The biggest thing is I feel so much better about myself, I never thought I would get to this point and am so happy I have.

My name is Jennifer, I had Lap Band surgery in Tijuana, Mexico in March 2011. At the start of my pre-op diet, I was 264.8 lbs. and I am 5'4 tall. In less than 23 weeks, I have lost 80 lbs. at 184 lbs.* I have struggled with my weight my whole life. In 2008, I lost my mother at 51 years old and then in 2010, I lost my father at 53 years old. At that point I started to question how much of life I had left to live. I felt like I was on a ticking time clock and I am only 34 years old!
My weight at this point was only going to increase my chances of having an early death as well. I have three wonderful children, which made me even more determined to change my life. Through BeliteWeight I have gained my life back. I have insured that I will be here for the next 40 years to celebrate every event in my children and grandchildren's lives. The facility was beautiful! JoAnne and the staff were incredible! I owe the remaining years of my life to this surgery! I still have around 40 lbs. to go till goal, but I will be there before my one year "surgiversary"!

After 23 years of drugs, I turned my life around for the better by becoming completely drug-free, but it resulted with me constantly eating. By November 2007, I weighed my heaviest of 257 lbs. I needed the extra push so I could take control of my life again and decided to have the surgery done. I researched for about a year and wanted to loose weight the right way so I could be emotionally and psychologically ready for the weight loss. BeliteWeight provided me a list of previous patients where I could call and talk to them about their experience, where other companies did not.
My patient facilitator was there with me every step of the way. I chose to have the gastric band procedure in Mexico. I had the best experience, the doctors, nurses, BeliteTeam never left me in the dark. I am so happy with my results that I have two co-workers with diabetes coming down to Mexico to get the surgery done as well. I honestly am the happiest I have ever been in a long time! I feel like me again, I have no pain, my life does not revolve around pain and the best part is I can be comfortable with myself again. It's the best gift I have ever done for myself.

It was really hard to find before pictures of myself because I avoided the camera like the plague! Before I had weight loss surgery, I weighed about 210 lbs. I decided to have lap band surgery in 2009. I only lost 20 pounds with the band and then quickly regained some of the weight. I decided in August of 2010 to have Dr. Rodriguez revise my lap band to the Gastric Sleeve. I could not be happier with my revision!
I think I was around 200 lbs. when I came back for the sleeve and today I am down to 150 lbs!* No one believes I weigh 150, I guess because I'm now wearing a size 8!*
Before I had my revision surgery I had so much trouble with my back. I have had two back surgeries and was pretty miserable anytime I walked much. Now, it is like I never even had back problems. I was also on blood pressure meds and now my blood pressure is normal without taking any medication.*
My entire experience with BeliteWeight was positive, including the person who picked me up from the airport in El Paso. The hospital and staff were awesome too. I received excellent care the entire time and I could not be happier with my current results.
I applied for BeLite's Payment Plan Option and was approved. Being able to have the convenience of financing was an added bonus. I loved being able to have the payments automatically deducted from my checking account so I never had to worry about mailing in the payments or being late. I have had nothing but a positive experience. I am continuing to lose weight even though it is very slow now, but I really don't want to lose much more. I am 5'7" and 52 years old so if I stay at this weight I will be thrilled.
As I looked back through the pictures I am amazed at myself today! WOW is all I can think when looking back at those pictures. I am so glad I didn't give up on myself and my dreams of being healthy. I would, and do encourage anyone struggling with weight issues to do this for themselves. I tell them this was the best gift I ever gave to myself.

I love my doctor!! I think we all say that about the person that was instrumental in saving our lives but if I had to do it over again...absolutely and would never change my doctor. I love ya Dr. Rodriguez and thank you and your wonderful staff at BeLiteWeight and Star Medica Hospital/Juarez for all your wonderful care and attention you gave me during my stay. You, and everyone, explained exactly what was going to happen, when it was going to happen and how. I have never felt in better hands than when I was there in Juarez. Even with the language barrier, I never had any trouble communicating any of my needs (which were not alot I might add since they were very attentive) to the nursing staff at the hospital. I would most certainly recommending going to Mexico, this facility and having surgery again should the need arise... XOXOXOXO!

Hi JoAnne and any other interested parties,
I can't believe it's been a year since surgery...wow...Here's an update...
I have lost 73 pounds and have gone from a size 24 to a 16*...my feet don't hurt; my sugar levels are normal; they went from 100 to 92* at my last check up. My mother, who winters in Arizona, says that she can't believe the change in my personality...she says that I am so much more relaxed and confident...today I ran to "beat" someone someplace and didn't get out of breath...a year ago I would have thought I was dieing! I am so pleased with the progress. I feel awesome and would do it all over again! I have attached a current picture of me...it's just from my phone but at least it's current...

I have always been the "big" kid in class. I played 3 sports in high school (football, wrestling, track) and played football my freshman year of college. I hurt my knee twice that year, which is when the weight started piling on. I gained 200 pounds in 7 years. It was a struggle to find clothes except at the big and tall stores, which were always 40 minutes to an hour away.
I found BeliteWeight through a contact at work. My sister just had my nephew and just wanted to start fresh. I had my Bariatric Surgery April 29th 2010 in Juarez. My patient facilitator, Dr. Rodriguez and his staff where amazing. It was one of the nicest hospitals I was ever in. The staff helped as much as they could and everything was explained and questions were answered. I never felt in the dark about anything. I was nervous because it was my first surgery ever.
It has been 17 months since my surgery and I have lost 226 lbs.* I went from a 6x shirt to a 2x shirt. My pant size is 38 now instead of 56.* I can go to a store and get clothes off the shelf. I went kayaking for the first time in my life. It hasn't been easy but I couldn't be more happier to see where I was to where I am I now.

One year ago I reached rock bottom. I could not do anything I wanted to. If I had to walk a distance I would fret over how I was going to get from point A to point B. I started at 245 lbs, which to some that does not sound like much but I am only 5 feet tall. I knew if I didn't do something I would not live a very long or very productive, happy life. I was on Cholestrol meds, blood pressure meds and was on my way to being a diabetic.
I went online and found JoAnne and BeliteWeight. This was the best decision I have ever made. Everything went smoothly from the day I signed on til today. I know that they are always there if I have any questions. And believe me I used the phone plenty in the beginning. I didn't know what to expect or what was happening to my body after surgery. They were always there and answered every question I had.
Surgery....wonderful.. if you could use that word to explain surgery. From transportation to the staff and the aftercare, everything went smoothly.
Have I reached my goal?....No... Am I discourged....a big No! I love my gastric sleeve and I know it will come off eventually. I am just a slow loser, but I am a loser! I have had such wonderful mini goals. The first time I could sit in a booth (which I avoided with a passion), wearing tie shoes, or getting on a plane and not asking for an extension belt. Boy I felt like cheering! Little goals but they meant so much in this wonderful journey.
I have been given a new lease on life and it is all thanks to Joanne and BeliteWeight. Hopefully the next time I send Joanne an update it will be when I am at goal.
Oh, by the way I have lost 85 lbs to date.* Doing the happy dance now...well at least I can dance now.
Thanks JoAnne and all your staff. You have literally saved my life!
Best Regards,
Janet

My current weight is 138-140 (I started at 195)* I do not drink protein shakes but I do get my protein in, I take daily vitiams I also take one biotin a day, I do not excerise but I do watch my 2 year old grand baby and she keeps me running, the conditions I had before surgery are: blood sugar out of wack, B/P elevated, and NO energy what so ever, couldn't even bend over to tie my shoes without it cutting my air off.
Now after surgery...... PERFECT! I have not gone to get a check up only because I have no reason to go to the Dr.... Thank you BeLiteWeight... I am recommending BeLiteWeight to everyone that has a weight issue and feels like I did before the weight loss, hopeless, useless, discussing, and just didn't care if I woke up or not. Now I have a life and loving it!!!!!!!

Well, How do I begin....
My weight has been out of control for approximately 25 years. Once I had my son (that many years ago), I have never been able to get my weight under 200lbs. NEVER!
I am was a "fit fat person". I have been althetic all of my life, but no matter what I tried my outter appearence never matched my inner abilities. This was heart breaking, because people see you -- they just see a fat person.
I was a size 16 and hating it. EVERYTHING fit too small. Ohhh I had a little waistline, but the hips were too big to look decent in my opinion in my clothing. So, I would hide my figure by wearing blouses that fell below the hips, or short blouses that I could tuck in and wear a belt. (But, this only meant that you could see my figure even more and my hips looked that much bigger.)
My decision to have weightloss surgery came when I had a physical and discovered that I had high blood pressure. For most African Americans this was normal due to our diet, genes, etc... I would go to the doctor once every 3 months to be tested again, and have my medicines renewed. Until one day when I went back for a followup my doctor told me that my kidneys were having trouble functioning normally due to my blood pressure issues. That I really needed to loose weight!
I tried everything I could think of, ie. the pay as you go diets; diet pills; over the counter stuff... 20lbs or so would drop off, but once you stopped the diets all the weight came right back. And let's be honest -- do we really like "not" having control of our own timing when he must go to the bathroom? I didn't! So enough was enough.
I began to research online through as many weight loss channels as I could find. Then I hit that famous video site viewing 100's of vids and testimonies -- when I came across a user mentioning BeLiteWeight. He has many videos and explained how having the Gastric Sleeve the best thing that he could've ever done for himself.
When I found out that my medical delayed in confirming payment for my surgery, I decided to do it myself. We think of our partners, children, etc...and have a habit of placing ourselves last in our lives. I told myself that it was ok to be selfish this once in my life. I needed this for my health! If I am not healthy, then I can not be here for my family.
I was nervous to go to Mexico -- but I began placing my ducks in a row. Getting my passport and finding an agency where I could have payment options. I was extremely nervous the day of surgery; but I had the best doctor and after care that I could've ever had hoped for...
I went from the airport to the hospital -- had my surgery -- 4 days later I was back at the airport to fly home. I recovered in the comfort of my own home for 2 days and went back to work that Monday. After that, I just had to learn how to treat my new tool (my sleeve).
So after having my surgery and loosing 87 lbs, I reached my goal in 14 months.* My starting weight 234lbs- now 145lbs (goal wt). My maintenace range 135 - 145lb for weight lifting purposes.*
I went from a size 16 to a 4/6*. I now wear Juniors clothing in size S/M.* Everytime I walk by a mirror I have to doublecheck and ask myself "Is that me?" And the most realistic thing that I have ever had to do was to start telling myself "It's ok to like me now! That...it's ok to say, "That is too big -- not too small". With positive thinking this experience all began a new me. I am still physically active and have began my plastics. I can't wait to see the new me at the end of 2013! People are really going to be socked!!!!
It's ok to love the old and new you! Never let anyone tell you differently.
Wishing you much Faith and Success.
A successful weightloss patient.
P.S. I would do it over again 1000xs and still be happy with my results. 5 lbs less tomorrow is better than 10lbs more yesterday!
I love my sleeve and work it as the tool that it is... It helps me along every day, every step of the way! Thank you Sleeve for making this possible!!!!
Regards,
Tonya

For years I've accepted my being overweight as my curse. I tried everything to lose weight including the popular and fad diets. I approached my doctor about having weight loss surgery only to have my health insurance deem me not sick enough to qualify for surgery.
When I heard about BeLiteWeight it was like my prayers had been answered and I decided to go with the gastric sleeve procedure. I approached my husband and even though he was apprehensive about me traveling to Mexico he supported my decision completely. Once I filled my friends in on my decision, it was met with mixed reviews. Although they all supported my decision, they too were concerned about me traveling to Mexico to have it done. Before I knew it the day had arrived for me to fly out to El Paso, TX. I flew on Christmas Day and spent the night at a hotel and the next day I was picked up by the shuttle driver who took me straight to the hospital in Juarez Mexico.
Admittance went very smoothly. I was taken to my own room and had some testing performed. There was a communication barrier with some, but at any time I didn't understand something there was someone who spoke English to explain what was going on. My surgery took place the next day. Surgery was a complete success!! As with any surgery there was pain and discomfort, but very minimal. The stay in the hospital for the next couple of nights was very nice, but I looked forward to getting home. Before leaving the hospital they had to do a post-surgical x-ray showing how my stomach had changed from it's original shape.
Following the post surgical diet was a breeze and within the first month I lost 35 pounds*. I am very strict with my portion sizes and try to eat every 3 to 4 hours to keep my metabolism going. I drink at least 48 ounces of water a day. I no longer consume ANY caffeinated or carbonated products. I cannot believe that a year has gone by and I've lost 125 pounds*. I've gone from a size 24 to a size 10!* I thank BeLiteWeight, Dr Rodriguez & his team for giving me the tool for me to get my life back! Before surgery I used to dread going clothes shopping, but now I look forward to trying on clothes! I would highly recommend this to ANYONE!!

Disclaimer: I work for BeLiteWeight but I'm doing a testimonial because I had surgery, lost weight and was pleased with the care I received at the hospital etc.
I had revision of my prior Lap Band surgery to a Mini Gastric Bypass on January 29, 2009. I had lost close to 90 pounds with my band* but after some other health issues (not band related) I found myself all the way back up to within 5 pounds of where I started originally back in 2003.
I couldn't live heavy any longer and found that I was missing so many vital things in my life like enjoying activities with my children. I wasn't looking forward to another surgery (I'm a surgery whimp) but I didn't see many other options since I was a total failure at dieting (obviously).
My revision surgery went well, I won't go into the fact that I think that all the surgeons we have are awesome but I wanted to tell you my experience with losing the weight.
At my one year surgery anniversary I wrote this for my blog:
Before Weight Loss Surgery I Weighed 92.5 Pounds More and...
~Couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without being winded
~Couldn't bend over to tie my shoes without strategic propping involved
~Couldn't imagine that life would be any different than it was already was
Today I... Weigh Less Than I Did When I Was 14 Years Old and...
~Can walk long distances without trouble
~Can bend over to pick something up without feeling like I might fall over
~Can see great promise in future things to come my way and already have a life that is totally different from before
Having weight loss surgery was one of the very best decisions I have ever made in my life. I was a relatively "heathy fat person" so, other than having no energy, being heavy robbed me of more of my "life experiences" than anything else. My "after" photo was taken of me with my new summertime obsession... fishing! When I was heavy, you wouldn't have caught me out in the sunshine because I had more than enough "flubber" that it was just too hot.
I recently went to Hawaii in November, 2012 and 1. bought my first bathing suit in about 20 years... 2. was seen wearing my swimsuit in public (there was NOOOO way before you'd find me in public)... and 3. snorkeled for the first time and I LOVE it!
Thanks for reading and allowing me to share my experience with you!

I have been overweight ever since I was a child. Being ridiculed and teased my whole life about my weight growing up wasn’t easy. Trying various diet pills and workout routines just didn’t seem to work for me. So one day I decided to make a change about my weight and came across BeLiteWeight’s services.
I was instantly grabbed by the BeLiteWeight website and the content available, it made it easy to decide that BeLiteWeight was my answer to obesity. The transportation was easy and organized between the airport, hospital and hotel. The facilities (hospital, hotel) were immaculate and clean. My doctors were skilled, very well trained and caring gentleman who even traveled to the hotel to check on me after my Gastric Bypass procedure. I was fully back on my feet a week after the procedure, and in a year and a half I have lost a total of 130 lbs!*
BeLiteWeight changed my life and is worth every cent. If your willing to make the change from obesity to a healthier life, let BeLiteWeight guide the way.

Ohhh what a journey I have traveled!
I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery in Mexico in June of 2011. Words can not begin to explain the way I feel about Dr. Jose Rodriguez and the staff at BeLiteWeight. After a great deal of research for a year, I decided to contact BeLiteWeight. From the first moment that I talked to them, I knew this is what I needed to do and that it was just “RIGHT”! Everyone, from ladies in the office answering all of my crazy questions, Jamie in Finance, to the sweet lady at the hospital that wanted me to sign the paper on the clipboard saying that she had changed the trash in my room, was caring, courteous, and most of all, supportive!
I began my journey at 263 pounds. I am now 1 year and 8 months out of surgery and I have lost (and maintained) 105 pounds!* My life has changed! I have more energy, but most of all, I love myself. I am not ashamed to see people from my past or family members that I have not seen in a long time. I love hearing, “Oh my, you look really good!” from others. I especially love it when my husband or my son makes comments about something I am wearing or doing something that I have not been able to do before.
I have always dreamed of that “miracle drug” that I could take and get skinny! Well, I think I have found it! Gastric Sleeve is a miracle surgery. It saved my life! Was it easy? Yes and No. The surgery is easy (for me anyway, maybe not for Dr. Rod!). I was nauseous after the surgery, but I did not have any pain. I was walking right after surgery (this is a big MUST!) I followed BeLiteWeight’s orders to a T! I have changed my eating habits (not hard to do with a little stomach!) and I try to keep moving! I am in the “maintaining” part of my surgery. Can I eat a cupcake? Yes, although not a whole one still. Do I want a cupcake? Not really, a bite does me fine because it tastes way too sweet!!!
Mexico was my biggest fear. I guess it was fear of the unknown. I did not know what to expect. I have now been to Mexico twice now. The first time for my surgery and a second time with my sister for her surgery. (My sister has lost 80 pounds thus far!) At no time did I feel unsafe or scared. The driver from BeLiteWeight picked us up at the airport and took us directly across the border to the hospital. Everyone at the hospital was helpful and kind. The hospital itself was immaculately clean and kept up!
Having this surgery is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I am going back to Mexico in April with my mom and a friend! (I get the walk the halls with two people every hour!) I am excited for these two sweet people and to get to watch them in their journey! Thank you to everyone at BeLiteWeight! Please keep up your outstanding service!

Lisa did an updated blog post about her obesity struggle and ending up on a cover of a wedding magazine. It's very inspiring and you can read it by clicking here.
BeliteWeight saved my life. I was the girl who struggled with her weight her whole life, I went up the scale and down the scale. When I had a bad day, I ate, when I was bored, I ate.... I love food! I come from a Mexican family and our celebration are centered around food. I hated going to the movies because I couldn't fit in the seat comfortably, I wore sweatshirts to cover my body and I hated planes. A month before surgery, I had to get on a plane and I remember how awful it felt to get on a plane and the seat belt wouldn't felt. When I looked in the mirror, I saw ugly and FAT! I had enough and I told my mother that I wanted to have Bariatric Surgery, this is when I found BeliteWeight.
If it wasn't for their kindness and passion of BeliteWeight, I would not have done this. Yes, I had the same fears, as you all do about going to Mexico, but I trusted BeliteWeight that I would be okay. My mother did the Gastric Sleeve Surgery with me as well! On March 11, 2011 my mother and I went on the plane, barely fitting in the seat, holding each others hands, as we were ready to take on this journey! No turning back!
When we arrived to El Paso, a kind man picked us up and took us straight to the hospital. The hospital was the nicest hospital I have ever been to. My mother is a medical professional and we were both in awe. The most impressive part was the care, from the moment we got there we were greeted with professional and kind individuals. The surgeons were there to easy your nerves and educate you. It was just an amazing experience! To me, Juarez has a lot to teach the United States!
On March 11, I gained years on to my life! Five days after the Gastric Sleeve Surgery, I flew out to Baltimore from Texas and walked five miles with no problem! The Gastric Sleeve Surgery has changed the person I am inside and out. I started at 5'8 at 261 and seven months later I weigh 174 lbs*., That's 87 pounds!* My mother who is 55 has lost over 60 pounds!* I still love food, but now food does not control my life, I do! I started this journey at a size 22 and today I bought a pair of size 12 pants!*
These moments were created because of BeliteWeight! BeliteWeight is a company that can change your life, the staff has become my friends, but most of all they saved my life! If you are sitting thinking, "Should I do this? Is it safe?" My answer to you is YES! You are worth this amazing Bariatric Surgery! Call BeliteWeight now!!!

Hello Ladies!
I hope you are both doing well and had a lovely Thanksgiving! I wanted to let you know that I am officially at 50 pounds lost!* I feel amazing! The sleeve is my dream life! It is not a panacea, I am continuing my therapy with a psychiatrist who specializes in weight loss surgery patients. :)
I am 20lbs over what I had lost with the band. I haven't weighed 210 in about three years! I can fit into a size 16 jeans very comfortably now, and I have bought a few 14's as well!* (I was a tight 18/2XL at surgery time). I went shopping last night and I can fit into size large at many stores! My boobs unfortunately are still gigantic so that makes it a little difficult! Hopefully they will shrink soon.
I love that my co workers are constantly saying how amazed they are at my weight loss. I know it won't be easy forever, but it still has seemed like a piece of cake. Saying "no" is so much easier these days. Food has lost that "fun event" feeling it had before for me. I am used to the new, smaller portions I eat now and rarely eat until stuffed like I did at first. I learned my lesson with the band....absolutely no ice cream, milk shakes, mashed potatoes, or cream soups for me this time around! (No slider foods!) I've been eating a lot of fat free Greek yogurt which is yummy and has lots of protein.
I've had no hair loss yet, though I confess I would love to lose some! (Ahh!) I have SO much hair! My hair dresser keeps laughing when I tell her that its possible that I might start losing hair! She says it won't matter on me! ;)
I will try and take some pictures this weekend. I did something two weeks ago that I haven't had done since my wedding day over four years ago. I arranged for my husband, me, and our two dogs to get family pictures taken for Christmas. I should get them back today or tomorrow, I will pass them along. :)
Thank you so much for enabling me to change my life for the best it could be! I am a happier, healthier person!! No blood pressure meds for me now either!!! I have had it checked since at the doc twice and it's been NORMAL! Praise The Lord! My outlook on life has improved dramatically! I have more energy, more happiness and my husband and I barely fight anymore. I can't see this going anywhere but better and better as I continue to shed the weight that's prevented me from living life to the fullest.
We are going to Hawaii in June and I can't wait!!! I will feel proud of myself whatever I weigh. I know I will feel marvelous! Four years ago my family went and I weighed 180. I hope I can weigh that or less this time around!
Enough blabbering! Thanks for your support ladies, and god bless BELITEWEIGHT!!! :)

Hi my name is Tammy O,
I had the Gastric Sleeve done on August 25th 2012 in Mexico at Star Medica. The surgeons and physicians are Dr. Jose Rodriguez-Villareal and his team. They were great! Each one of them come in to my hospital room and talked to me before the surgery and the day after. They took there time and explaned to me what there were going to do. And the staff at Star Medica was so kind and sweet. They were fantastic. I would recommend Star Medica and these doctors to anyone. If you want a very good place to have bariatric surgery done I highly recommend these surgeons and Star Medica in Juarez, Mexico.

Hi Joanne,
Wow, what a weekend. I have to say, this was an awesome experience. Your staff, Dr. Rod and the staff at Star Medica, were all so awesome. I am so happy I chose to go with Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his team for my surgery. From the moment Sergio picked me up, to dropping off at the hospital, I felt like I was safe. Through pre-op x-rays, iv insertion, blood samples, pre-surgery routine to post-op care. This staff of doctors, nurses, and assistance really cared about me. There English was as good as my Spanish, but we managed to get through all language barriers.
Since I have arrived home, I have had nothing but energy. I appreciate it and I am for sure not complaining about it. I wake up feeling better. I am already moving…carefully so. I don't even fell like I had any surgery-outside of the bandages that are around my midsection. I am in no pain. I get an occasional hunger pain that seems to linger a little bit longer than normal, but I am sure those will eventually dissipate.
This whole journey to the day was awesome. I am truly excited about what the future holds for me. The smile has yet to leave my face. I honestly feel like a new person. Mainly because, my weight is the one thing that I could never master or keep under control. So now I have this tool, this AWESOME tool that will help me conquer this part of me. I am so much happier…I really wish I would have done this sooner, but I guess everything is in God's perfect timing.
Please give muchas gracias to Dr. Rod and his team, and many thanks to you and your staff as well.
God Bless
Regina

My Gastric Sleeve surgery was on December 13, 2012 with Dr. Jose Rodriguez & his team in Mexico.
I was 230 pounds and before my surgery it was hard for me to pull myself up onto my horse. I always looked for a pickup to help me up into the saddle. I never wanted to get off my horse unless I as done riding for the day.
My "after" picture was taken on February 19th. I was at 180 pounds then. Now this morning (March 5th) I was at 172 pounds.*
I am now 12 pounds away from my goal weight!!! I am able to now get right onto my horse with NO problem at all!!! I am so happy I did this surgery... Thank you BeLiteWeight!!! My life has forever changed!!

JoAnne,
I had the gastric sleeve done February 14th 2012. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself! I weighed 199 lbs when I had to have a heart procedure which scared me into looking into weight loss options. Every doctor I went to in Texas said I had to gain 30 more pounds before they could even try to hep me.
I found you guys on the internet and began immediately making pans with Ishi she is wonderful! I can't say enough about how friendly and caring she is every step of the way. She will answer every concern you have if she doesn't know the answer she wil find out and get back to you quickly!
Dr. Rodriguez is precious. He is kind. The financing was easy and great cannot say enough about this Awesome group. The hospital was top of the line. I had my surgery in Juarez was never afraid of anything. I was picked up in ELPASO TEXAS.
I am now 120 lbs and on my way back to being me*. I just wish I had done this sooner will get you some pictures of before and after when I get time, I am really busy enjoying my life again. I can't thank all of you enough for helping me become myself again.
Thanks,
Amy
P.s. If you guys have anyone doubting anything they can call me or email me!

Good morning, Joanne!
Just wanted to thank you, the doctors, nurses, and the rest of your staff. All of you are wonderful, caring, and amazing people! Though I am a little sore, I am feeling a lot better and able to consume a little bit more liquids. I also have been very diligent in following the medication instructions, so the pain is subsiding more each time.
I came home safe and sound last night. Alberto the driver is such a delight to drive with and all the passengers in the van seemed to have been much more bright eyed, more energized, and happy with their choice as well! So cheers to that!!! *:) happy
The plane ride was smooth. I have no regrets on the revision as I believe it has extended my life. I was a little scared in the beginning but I'm very happy with my decision, and you Joanne, are an inspiration!
Oh, and please send Kathy my regards, she too, has inspired me and has been of great help, she's such a sweetheart.
Thanks once again for everything!
Best wishes from me to each and everyone of you...
God bless you all!

I just want to tell you how happy I am with my new body. Dr. Jose Rodriguez did a fantastic job with my weight loss revision surgery. I had fabulous care. I know others that have gotten gastric surgery in the states. Some were in terrible pain after and during recovery and some leaked and had to spend a small fortune getting the leak fixed. I had no issues at all.
I have lost about 70 pounds*. I would recommend Dr Rod to anyone that wants a safe pain free solution to their weight problem. BeLiteWeight was a life saver. Everyone there has been so nice and helpful!
Thank you!

Hello, I am almost a year post op and I am thrilled with my weight loss. I did not have a high BMI but I did weigh 205 pounds and only 5'3. I had high blood pressure and arthritis and pain daily walking carrying around all the extra weight. I was depressed and did not like how I looked. Today my blood pressure is normal and I have no pain walking and I like what I see in the mirror.
I did my own research and talked to a lot of people like you are, however, I did not discuss my decision to even my closest family members and friends. I did not want to hear their opinion that I knew would only be negative. Even today there are many family and friends that do not know I had the procedure yet rave about my new appearance. I have lost to date 60 pounds* and have gone from a size 18 to a size 6.* I am a nurse and use to wear XXL scrubs and now wear a small.* My suggestion to you is do everything they tell you to do pre-op and post-op to the tee!
I went alone but would have been nice to have someone go along. There was another lady that went the same day as I did from Michigan so I did have someone to talk to.
The surgery itself was relatively painless, I did have some discomfort. I did not want to get up and walk like they told me to and that caused me a lot of gas pain for the first day. The second day I felt much better and was glad to have some broth and clear liquids.
The hospital was very clean, the nurses were wonderful, and the doctors and anesthesiologist were outstanding, professional, kind, and very caring. They made sure you were aware of everything and reassured you of any questions or concerns.
I felt safe with the hospital drivers crossing the border and at the hospital.
I am very happy I made the decision to have the surgery. I don't feel hungry and am careful that I get the required nutrients and protein in my daily diet. Just read and follow all the directions they give you. Be prepared when you return home with your broths, jello, popsicles, and take it easy. Don't rush, take your time in every phase. Pretty much now I can eat and drink anything I want, just at a very smaller portion. You will get to know when you are full and you don't want to over eat once you get there or you will feel very uncomfortable for awhile or you will have to get rid of it. This has only happened to me twice so like I said you will learn when to stop eating.
Make sure and join the BeLiteWeight on Facebook. There is a lot of good information and support there.
Go for it....best decision I ever made.
Thank you to Dr. Jose and his team. The after picture was a few months ago and I have lost more since then. Very pleased and greatful.

Hello!
Yes, I am back from my surgery in Juarez and it was an amazing experience. Despite a rough flight out there, it was amazing! The flight was over 3 hours late getting into El Paso but the surgical staff patiently waited for me. The doctor decided to do the surgery because he wanted me to stay at the hospital as long as possible and I'm glad he did so. Into the early morning hours they operated on me. I honestly felt so at ease and very little pain. The staff was so attentive and nice to me. The surgeons, Dr. Rafael and Dr. Calderon, were outstanding. Upon meeting and speaking with them, I knew I have made the right decision. The hospital reminded me more of a hotel, it was very nice.
I was so frazzled from the trip over there, but they immediately put me at ease. The driver, Sergio was also a gem and he took me to get some broth for the long trip home. I honestly have had flights to Europe that have taken less time! All I can say was everything was top notch and I can't say enough good things about the staff and care I received.
I am already down 14 pounds including what I lost from the post op diet* I have very little pain, very little hunger, and very little discomfort. My family could not believe how healthy I looked when I came home.
Please pass along to the doctors and staff at the hospital, as well as to you and your wonderful staff, my sincere thanks and gratitude in saving my life.
Thanks again,
S. M.

My name is Angela, I have been over weight my whole life until BeLiteWeight helped save my life. When I say saved my life, I really mean it. I was so depressed that I didn’t even want to leave the house. One day searching around the internet I ran across the BeLiteWeight's website. I was skeptical about going to Mexico for anything, let alone surgery. After talking to my facilitator Ishi, I decided that is what I wanted, no needed, to do.
Family and friends tried to talk me out of it but I told them I was doing it no matter what, I had already made up my mind. My surgery date was scheduled for March 22, 2012. My mom went with me and when we arrived everything went pretty fast. They did the testing that they needed to do and got me ready for surgery. I met a lot of really nice people. I started freaking out a little bit that I had to go to this extreme just to be a normal weight.
Everyone there was very comforting and I even got a visit from Joanne, which shared her story with me. After talking to her, I was convinced this is what I was doing and they took me in to surgery. After I woke up there was minimal pain, which they helped to control quite well. The Dr.’s and the staff were awesome! I had my surgery on Thursday and stayed in the hospital until Saturday morning, and then they drove me to the hotel, which was beautiful!!
The staff there knew just what I needed and helped me all along the way. Later that afternoon one of the Dr.’s came to my hotel room to check on me and change my bandages. I don’t know about you but I have never had a Dr. come to me and check on me after I have left the hospital in the states. My experience all together was a great one. This was the best decision I ever made and don’t regret it for one minute. I am 6.5 months post op and down 104 lbs*. So if I could leave you with one thing, it would be, if you know this is what you want, go for it!

Hi, My name is Erin. I am 37 years old. I had my weight loss surgery on 4/20/2012. I consider this date a re-birth.
Before my weight loss surgery, I had gained and lost over 200lbs over the previous 12 years. When I was my late teens and early 20's it was easy to lose weight, but just as easy to gain weight. After the birth of my triplets, my weight sky-rocketed to a mind blowing 270 lbs.
I consider part of the problem with my weight gain was depression. I was un-happy with myself. About a month before my weight loss surgery my doctor put me on an antidepressant. I had tried them in the past, and explained the problems that I had encountered with each one. My doctor gave me one that would help with the problems I was having: ie depression, anxiety and insomnia.
I entered into my weight loss surgery weighing about 270 lbs. I have lost approximately 85 lbs.* I have gone from a dress size of 22, to a 12*. I am walking 5k, 10k, and have plans to walk a half marathon in October. I have changed my lifestyle. I no longer look at food as something to do when I am bored, or something to comfort me when I am sad. I look at food as fuel for my body, rather than a crutch for my emotions. I continue to be sedetary due to the type of work that I do, but have found ways to increase my activity level out-side of work hours. Recently I went on a weekend trip to Nelson BC, and the activity was non-stop with shopping and sight seeing. For the first time in over 15 years I was able to participate the full day without taking a break, and have energy left over! There is no way that I could have done that a year ago.
I look in the mirror, and I am no longer ashamed of myself. I can see the changes in myself. I can wear shorts in public, I can wear t-shirts, and not be ashamed of rolls and bulges. I LIKE MYSELF AGAIN.
I want to thank the people at BeLiteWeight for providing me with an opportunity to improve myself. My whole outlook has changed. I wake up excited for the day and welcome any challenges that come my way!

If anyone is questioning what to do, Gastric Sleeve surgery is the right decision! I went down May 1st to have the Gastric Sleeve done. I truly enjoyed every aspect of the entire experience. (Well maybe not right after surgery but I'll get to that:) A little background about me....I'm 33 years old and have been a paramedic for my adult life. I would consider myself very observant, cautious but not paranoid and with a long medical background. I also had never left the country until this trip. I read every word of the information provided by BeLiteWeight and felt as though they had their bases covered.
On the day of travel it was difficult not to eat or drink. When I landed in El Paso and turned on my phone I already had a voicemail from the driver who was scheduled to drive my aunt and I to Juarez. My driver, Hector, an older man, was polite, answered all my questions and was a good driver. Prior to leaving home I had looked at the multiple routes that would possibly be take to the actual hospital. Going over the border was super easy! The route was no different than anywhere else I would travel in the US. I was extremely alert or anything out of the ordinary. I found none. Hector advised that because of the road construction he would take a slightly different route. My ears perked up at that but I trusted in the info I had. There was NOTHING out of the ordinary. In fact, working in as a paramedic at night in a big city can be scarier! I arrived at the hospital and the driver walked us in (it's exactly like the pictures). They bring you into a lobby where no one else is and you sit and wait for them to come down. It was very relaxing and the couches were nice. The hospital was IMMACULATE! I am a huge nut when it comes to cleanliness and it is cleaner than any of the hospitals I have ever been in.
Dr. Calderon came down around 15 minutes after we got there. Went for a chest xray, then up to my room. Again, the cleanliness was amazing. Every single person I spoke to was so nice. Yes, many nurses did not speak English but we got by. There was always someone who did speak English not far away. As a medical professional in the Northeast we have top of the line everything. The floor was not what I would call "advanced" but the procedures (IV, ekg) were done with obvious experience and the IV done in an aseptic technique. I was slightly nervous about the "older" equipment used on the floor They came up to get me about two or so hours after I arrived. I wasn't nervous I was ready! (And hungry!)
The doctors both came up prior to surgery to talk and answer questions. They checked on me each day.
Once in the pro-op area I saw that everything was state of the art, as you would see in the US. They gave me something to relax in pre op and I really don't remember a whole lot! I remember going into the operating room and looking at every single thing. Sterile areas were sterile, non sterile areas were clean. They put me on the bed, told me they don't use catheters (Thank goodness!) and that was it!. The surgery is less than an hour and then I was in post op. I slept for about an hour (I’m told). Here is the truth.....When I woke up in the post op room (same as the pre-op room) I felt as though I was suffocating due to the gas in my stomach. I know immediately what it was but still it was scary. I calmed down immediately and they let me hang my feet over the side of the bed for a minute. Then I was fine! You may have a completely different experience but I assure you the gas is the worst. I felt really no pain when I awakened.
I went back up to my room and took a little nap. I didn't sleep a whole lot because I was so nauseous. The gas makes you burp which can make you nauseous and I threw up....a lot! But it wasn't bad I promise. I am not going to lie to you but those 12 hours were the worst. But I had just has surgery! The docs came in and assured me I was going to be feeling better as time went on. I was up and moving after 2 hours. They wanted me in bed but I don't always follow the rules! I walked and burped, and walked and burped....and burped some more! Each hour I felt better. I kept walking which was not fun because of the nausea. I am prone to nausea, though. Buy the next morning I was having great hours and then an hour of nausea. I stopped taking the pain medication because I don't know if that was making me nauseous. My surgery was Wednesday at about 5 pm. By Thursday 5 pm I was off the pain meds, walking around and feeling pretty awesome. They allowed my ice chips that morning. I was never so happy to have ice chips. In the afternoon I was given Tea, broth and Jello... the chamomile tea was amazing ( I now drink it all the time) an the broth was good. It was weird eating barely anything but I wasn't hungry! The staff is amazing. I enjoyed talking to, or trying to talk to every single person and when I rang the bell someone was there within two minutes. They were very attentive and truly professional.
Thursday night they gave me a sleeping pill and when I woke Friday I was ready to come home, pack my stuff and be on my way. I have never been so happy with a decision in my life. Even after the surgery. I never once had the thought of "did I make a mistake." I am still so excited! The drive back is was a regular cab, the driver was very used to doing it so I wasn't worried. The time over the border was an hour and a half. That was the worst part of the entire trip!!! It can take longer, depending on when you go. I was concerned about the travel because I had a 12 hour total flight home, with a layover. I was worried that I would not be comfortable. I wasn’t. I was exhausted but not at all uncomfortable.

Jamie,
Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. I was really excited that it has almost reached my 2 year mark from my surgery date. Like I told you earlier, I have lost a combined total of 220 lbs*. My experience with BeLiteWeight as well as Dr. Jose Rodriguez & team and the hospital was second to none. It was a great experience.
I was treated excellent at an top notch facility in Juarez, Mexico. I was, as you can imagine, a bit nervous about going to Mexico for my procedure (Gastric Sleeve) but was in fact treated better there than I was when I had back surgery here in Houston, Texas the previous year. The facility was clean, very modern and well taken care of. The staff from housekeeping to the surgical team all treated me as though they were treating a family member. I was thoroughly impressed and recommend it to everyone that asks. I am enclosing a few before and after pictures. I want to thank everyone from your staff for making this possible and a very pleasant experience.
Sincerest gratitude,
Brian R

I am happy with my gastric sleeve surgery and have gone from 216lbs in October 2012 to 160lbs* in February 2013. I am only 4 months out and approaching my goal. 56 pounds gone forever!*
(My husband and my mother-in-law had the gastric sleeve surgery also. We all had surgery with Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his team.)

I have been very happy with the results from my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I had a lap band for 3 years but had to have it removed when I had peritonitis (not related to the band). I of course gained back 40 pounds very quickly and decided that I had to do something. I was never extremely obese, but I was overweight. My goal was to go from 200 pounds to 140. I was back up to 180 when I had my VSG with Dr. Jose Rodriguez & team.
I have actually had three experiences with surgery in Mexico. The first time was in Monterrey, where I had my lap band placed. I was very satisfied with the surgeon, care, and facility. I was pretty happy with the lap band and lost weight. I sometimes had food get stuck, and getting fills was kind of inconvenient, but it was OK.
The second time I went to Mexico, it was in Cancun. I was scheduled to have the sleeve done with a doctor there. As it turned out, I ended up not having the surgery. The doctor there started the surgery and then decided he didn't want to do it because I had scar tissue. To make matters worse, he told me that I wouldn't get any refund. It was a horror. All I had to show for my air fare, hotel, time off, and money ($6,500.00) was a 1 inch scar. So I was definitely nervous about trying Mexico again.
I am so glad I went through with the surgery. My experience with BeLiteWeight was seamless from beginning to end. When I first inquired about the surgery and explained my fears from my recent trip, JoAnne called me and asked me about all of my concerns. She got answers to all of my questions and called me back.
I was also concerned about the scar tissue I had from previous surgery, and she was kind enough to forward my medical records and pictures from my endoscopy to Dr. Rodriguez who looked at them and assured me that he would be able to do the surgery. Dr. Rodriguez even called me to make sure that all of my questions were answered. This was all before I even scheduled the surgery. Because of my prior bad experience with the other surgeon, JoAnne gave me in writing a contract that said how much it would cost if I went for surgery and it couldn't be performed.
I went to Juarez in July of 2011 for the surgery. My husband went with me. He is a surgeon and if things didn't look on the up and up, he would have canceled the surgery. I arrived at the airport and was picked up promptly by a driver for BeLiteWeight. We were taken to the hospital (which is very safe and secure) and checked in. They were expecting all of us so the check in went quickly. I was taken to my room, which was nicer than any room in any facility I have seen in the US. It was quite clean and modern.
I arrived on a Friday in the afternoon. I was seen by a psychologist, nutritionist, anesthesiologist, was given a history and physical, EKG, and lab work to make sure that I was safe for surgery. I went down later that day and had my procedure, which went well. Needless to say, it was a success. I was sore after, but it went away pretty fast. I actually left on Sunday, a day early and returned to work on Monday. Before I left the hospital in Juarez, they did a scan to make sure that there were no leaks in my suture line.
Since my surgery I have not had to have any follow up. Dr. Rodriguez was actually kind enough to clean up some of the massive scar tissue I had which really reduced the pain I had from before the surgery. I steadily lost weight and reached my goal weight of 140.* I was up to 200 before Weight Loss surgery, which may not seem like a lot to some people, but I went from a size 16 (really tight) to a size 4.*
I would do it again in a heart beat. I have been quite happy with the Gastric Sleeve. I wish that I would have had the sleeve to start with now. The band is good too though. My sister and brother both have a band and have both lost over 100 pounds.
Even though it has been a year and a half, I still can't believe how good I look and feel. I have been to my PCP and GYN for annual check ups, and everything is great. My cholesterol went down to 170*. I wear a smaller size now than I did in high school.*
It isn't often you can say that you got what you paid for with no problems, but I do think that I got what I paid for and more with this surgery and the services provided by BeLiteWeight.

Stephanie shared her 1 year update she sent us along with her "after" photo:
Sometimes we aren't blessed with the perfect body. I, for sure, was one of those people. I've struggled with weight issues my entire life. I've been on the same diet roller coaster that most have been on, trying every fad diet and prescription pill imaginable. Although some seemed to work at first, it was always a temporary fix, leaving me going back, if not gaining more than where I was before.
Then by what I call a blessing, I came across BeLiteWeight while searching the web one evening. I'd always thought about getting a weight loss surgery procedure but like most, several things kept me a few steps away. There was first, the cost... second, the time away... and last, unknown of what to expect during such a procedure. The more I read about BeLiteWeight, the more comfortable and surprised I was about the information I read. Before I knew it, my flight was booked and I was on my way to one of the best decisions of my life.
I was close to the heaviest weight of my life and at the age of 44, I knew along with the added weight, came much greater health risks. I didn't even have health insurance! But the staff at BeLiteWeight and all the information passed to me, had me at ease and ready to take that step. The communication was effortless and they answered every question I had. Several of their own staff were themselves, a client so their knowledge was first hand. With their help, I knew what to expect, about the facilities to chose from, the differences between the procedures that were available and the Doctors who would be working with me. They even had an awesome payment plan that allowed me to afford something I thought I never could. The pricing was thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars cheaper which made it even easier, to make my decision.
I actually traveled alone and arriced at the airport on my scheduled day. As promised, a shuttle was there to meet me and a couple others and we were on our way. We arrived at the hospital, had an effortless check-in and taken to our rooms. I weighed in at 238 pounds the day before my surgery. Not a healthy weight, especially for a 5'2" frame! Within 3 days, I was back home! Surgery was fine, the doctors, Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his team, were incredible, amazing bedside manners and a very nice, clean facility.
I am happy to say today, that I am about 20 pounds from my goal weight. I am now almost below 170 pounds* and continue to lose monthly. I feel so much better, am more active and happier... and know, without a doubt, that I have BeLiteWeight to thank for that. THANK YOU BELITEWEIGHT FOR MY NEW ME!!!

All my life I have struggled with my weight. I have always been the biggest of all my friends. I have had to special order clothes.
In January 2012, my health was dramatically declining. I was put on blood pressure medicine, and fighting daily with physical health problems, excess sweating, fatigue, light headedness, and shortness of breath. I reached a maximum weight of 430 lbs. I then decided to change my life by committing to seek out help through BeLiteWeight.
My journey through BeLiteWeight was very successful. My experience in the hospital, the days before and after the surgery was great. The day of the surgery was the worst day by far. After following all doctors’ orders, I began to see improvements in my health.
The first three months, after surgery, I lost 100 lbs*, and was able to come off all medications. Within the first year, I lost 160 lbs*. I would say my experience through BeLiteWeight was a “huge” success. I would and have recommended this process to anyone in need of a lifestyle change.

In January of 2011, my husband, Victor, was given a gift with the stipulation he was to use the money for gastric surgery. We began to explore the options and facilities near us. We found the cheapest facility would do the surgery for the $10K we had, but then because of required pre-surgeries consultations, tests, required supplements and a hospital stay. The total would be over $20K. We only had the $10K, and our insurance did not cover the surgery.
My husband began internet searches and found BeLiteWeight. He researched the services, read the testimonials and announced he would be traveling to Juarez in March. I became angry, very ANGRY. My husband is a Lt. Deputy Sheriff and there are bounties on lawmen in Mexico. We did not speak for days and I even went to the point of contemplating a divorce. Part of the feelings was fear for his life, part was jealousy. I didn't want him to lose the weight, and not me.
Our son, who is in the military agreed to accompany him and the airline tickets were bought. But, at the last minute, we found out our son could not use his military passport, so I was elated. My husband could not, would not go alone. I was wrong. He was still going. At the last minute, one of his sergeants told him, he would go with him. They left on March 24th, both leaving the week of their grandchildren's birthdays and both leaving two upset wives.
Victor came home and the weight fell off. I was proud of him, but still envious. I wanted to have the surgery. Victor promised we would schedule my surgery as soon as we could. We had numerous medical bills from my cancer and his heart condition. I did not see it ever happening.
But, in August of that year, we had a surprise. Victor had lost over 80 pounds and was looking and feeling good. We carried my parents out for lunch and they kept complimenting him. They were amazed at his progress and commitment. That night the phone rang, on the line was both of my parents with a gift of $5K for my surgery. Yea! We began trying to find the other money necessary for the surgery and trip. In a few days, we had it, with the help of some financing from BeLiteWeight.
On Oct. 7th, 2012 we left NC for our trek to the promise land. My surgery was on Oct. 9th. The day before my surgery, my blood sugar was 201 with me taking 2000 mg. of Glucophage, 8 mg. Amaryl and 21 units of Lantus. The day after my surgery, my blood sugar was 81 with no meds. I didn't take any meds at all for two weeks. I then saw my family doctor who took me off of all of them. My last A1C had my sugar was slightly elevated, (7.1), but still no meds!*
It has been 18 months since Victor's surgery. He has lost 162 pounds and has gone from a 56" waist to a 38".* My surgery was a year ago. I have lost 81 pounds and have gone from a size 34 dress to a 20.*
Looking back on this experience, I wish we could have had the surgeries sooner. The hospital in Juarez is wonderful. It is the cleanest I have even been in, the staff are great and the doctors, Dr. Jose Rodriguez & team, are simply the best. I couldn't have asked for any better care.
BTW, the Lt. and his Sgt. told everyone who asked that they were a chicken farmer and a truck driver. No so far fetched. Victor raises chickens for a hobby and occasionally, Malcolm drives a Ford F150.

Hi Joanne! First off thank you so much! I would be honored to share my experience with others.
I had my lap band surgery a little over 3 years ago. Throughout my entire life I always struggled with my weight. As a 23 year old young man I was in really bad shape. I suffered from hypertension high cholesterol and arthritis. My insurance carrier at the time would not allow me to have surgery at all due to the fact that it was considered cosmetic.
I heard about BeLiteWeight through a family member who had recently had gastric bypass done in Mexico. The cost for the lap band surgery at the time was extremely too expensive to have the procedure done in the United States without insurance. I was completely surprised regarding the difference between cost if I decided to go through your company and have the surgery. Your staff were completely helpful and supportive during this process. The hospital was honestly the most beautiful hospital I have ever seen and the room reminded me of a beautiful hotel room. I had my procedure done in Juarez, Mexico with Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his surgical team.
My life has changed considerably since having the Lap Band procedure done. When I went in to have the surgery I weighed a little over 300 pounds. Yesterday I weighed myself and I weigh 219 pounds!* It has taken some time for the weight to come off but with hard work and determination and using the Lap Band as a tool for success, I am definitely proud of the person that I am becoming. This may sound corny but BeLiteWeight has truly changed my life! I am a better me! I am looking forward to my continued journey!

All my life I have always been over weight. Always the largest in my family, the largest of all my friends, and always had to order special sized clothes.
My weight kept creeping up and up. I was out of control with my eating and could not control my appetite at all. I had tried everything from pills to shots, all the fad diets, but nothing helped.
The one thing that did change my life is when I discovered BeLiteWeight in 2012. I did my homework and contacted previous patients about their surgeries, their experiences, the doctors, nurses etc. and everyone kept telling me the same thing over and over again "It was the best thing I ever did and changed my life". I had my surgery on April 30, 2012 in Juarez Mexico. I had gastric sleeve surgery and my doctors were Dr. Jose Rodriguez and his team of surgeons.
My surgery went well. I had no problems or complications. From April 30, 2012 until present today I have lost over 230 pounds and I am still losing*. My highest weight I started out with before the surgery was well over 470 pounds,
This surgery was a God send. It literally saved my life, changed my life, changed my relationship with food, and it literally turned off the part of my brain that caused me to constantly over eat. It took the uncontrollable need to eat at all hours of the day, it took the need to eat large vast amounts of food, and gave me a new lease on life. I have totally changed how I eat, how much I eat, what I eat. I read labels now, look at ingredients, etc. and I am able to do things I have done in years.
I am able to move, stand, bend, exercise, and finally live the life that for so long was denied me. I am living for me now and food is no longer my enemy.
