Today we’re moving to colorful India! If the smell of fresh cumin and the vivid hue of turmeric puts a smile on your face then this is definitely the recipe for you. Indian chicken wings are a tasty and nutritious meal that you can prepare quickly and easily in your kitchen. This recipe not only will taste great but you can also enjoy them without feeling guilty! This recipe is dedicated especially for our patients, but something tells us, that the smell from the oven will tempt the rest of your household too. Be prepared to cook some extra for whomever else is around!
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black peper
2 tsp turmeric powder
1 or more tbsp paprika powder
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tbsp chili powder (less if you don’t like spicy food)
1 tbsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
3 Ibs chicken wings
Avocado or Your Favorite Vegetable Oil
1 – Preheat the oven to 225 ° F
2 – Make sure your chicken wings are dry (you can use a paper towel for this), this helps the meat absorb the spices better.
3 – Pour the baking powder, salt, and pepper into a gallon zip lock bag.
4 – Put the chicken wings inside, close the bag, and shake it a few times.
5 – Add the rest of the spices, close it again, and shake it more.
6 – Prepare the baking tray, spray the bottom with the oil , put the chicken wings on top, and also spray them with some oil too.
7 – Put the wings in the oven for 30 minutes at 225F and then increase the temperature to 425F and let them cook for another 15 minutes. You can spray them again with more oil if they are looking dry. This will help the chicken wings be really juicy!
Imagine a life without stress… it’s not an easy task. It has long been known that stress is a part of life, but some of us can feel stress more than others. Let’s be honest, today’s world is not the most peaceful period in the history of mankind. We are in a pandemic that has been with us for many months, a presidential election that will be over soon, fires, hurricanes and other disturbing news from all around the world.
So many factors can very easily increase our stress levels. How do we stop and reduce tension? Albert Einstein supposedly said “life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” So maybe the solution is even easier than you think…
One of our patients Deborah truly takes to heart these famous words of Einstein. She not only improved the quality of her health but most of all she made her life much better and continues to strive for even more. In her words “I want to make the rest of my life the best of my life” So let’s hear more from Deborah.
“One of my new favorite activities is kayaking. It’s a great total upper body workout and you get to enjoy nature”. Change it up between cardio, like walking and jogging, and other days work with weights and strength training. A little time at the gym can give a good endorphin boost. Weights will help tone you and also help increase bone strength. “Take pictures of yourself so that later you can see the progress. You get so used to seeing yourself in the mirror that sometimes you don’t see how you have really changed. But most importantly, love yourself every step of this journey we call life. My goal is to make the rest of my life the best of my life.”
As you can see, focusing on your own health has the power to improve your life without adding more stress. You can do this too! The choice does not have to be painful, it’s up to you to decide what to do. If you like to swim, go to the swimming pool. You enjoy the dancing ? Turn on the music and start your party 😊
Positive focus on your health in can act as a stress reliever. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries. Additionally, exercise has a positive effect on reducing the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
Just as it did for Deborah, we hope your focus on a healthy lifestyle will give you great pleasure too!
“I truly am finally living life the way it was supposed to lived.”-Andrew
What a beautiful thought. After seeing Andrew’s progress 2 years after having weight loss surgery we feel even more confident about being the CEO’s of our own lives. Looking at just his before and after pictures we really can’t argue with the human potential for change! He looks stunning, posing proudly with inner strength and confidence in the eyes. Andrew knew exactly what he want and he got it. Here is the rest of his letter:
“I am doing amazingly well. Holding steady at 189 lbs. I have gone from a waist size of 54/56 in pants to a 34 and a 6 XL to a medium-large in shirts. Started at 375 in August 2018. Overall loss 186lbs, about 1/2 of my prior weight. I couldn’t have done it without y’all!”
Results are only achieved if somebody really wishes to cooperate and puts in the work. It is thanks to the courage and determination of Andrew that we can share another BeLiteWeight success story.
Bravo! Remember that each of you can also take such strong control of your life! If you want to change and you are reading this right now, then you are closer than you think 😉 Give us a call today 800-215-6497
Our team at BeLiteWeight is always excited and proud to hear from our wonderful patients that have found the success they are looking for. We just received an update from Michael to share that is really impressive! In just 13 months he lost roughly two hundred pounds and is now off all his medications! Here is his update in his own words:
“Finally hit Onederland! This quarantine was rough, but still managed to lose 13 lbs in the last 10 weeks. Now if I could be brave enough to go get a pedicure for these darn feet! Highest Weight:399 (was probably over 400 at one point) Current Weight: 199 Total loss: 200 Best part: off all medications and I feel great!
It is incredibly inspiring to hear from someone who has changed their life for the better in such a profoundly significant way. BeLiteWeight is so happy for you Michael!
One decision can change your whole life. Once again, BeLiteWeight is very happy to hear another beautiful story from one of our newer patients Heidi. It makes us especially proud to see her with such a big bright smile & writing such kind words in her recent letter. She gave us permission to share it!
At my heaviest I was 225 pounds at only 5’2. I was so physically tired carrying around the weight. I have an office job and kids that were older so my lifestyle really supported my obesity. I could get away with sitting most of the day at work and then when I got home I could do the same. Each day I would sit more and more because it was so exhausting to me to do anything else. So I just stopped trying.
One day when I was bringing groceries into the house I really lost my breath. I had to take a break between each trip back to the car. It was that day in 2018 that I decided I HAD to do something. I had been on every program you can think of before that, but I went right back online to sign up for a paid program. Once there I decided to look into weight loss surgery. I wanted something that would work this time! Then I saw how much it cost! No way I thought. It wouldn’t be an option for me and my insurance didn’t cover it. So, I google weight loss surgery without insurance and magically Beliteweight came up in that search! Being able to talk to real people and use a company that is based in the US sealed the deal for me. I had my surgery on December 7, 2018. I was still 225 pounds on surgery day.
I am now one year and 2 months post op. I hit my goal weight of 125 one year post op. I am now currently at 118. I am healthy and active! I just returned from a trip to Cabo where I was able to wear a regular bathing suit. You know what I mean, one that I didn’t have to be completely covered. I had spent many years avoiding trips and being around the water. I had to wear bathing suits that covered my entire stomach and shorts or a skirt kind of bottom to hide the thighs. I felt like to go to the beach or the pool I was still fully dressed. During my trip I never once felt like people were staring at me. I spent most of the days by the pool or at the beach… in my bikini!!! It felt amazing.
I have so many non scale victories I could continue typing for the next month. Everything I do is physically easy to me now. It doesn’t even cross my mind anymore. I think about something I want to do and I just do it. No regrets after at all. This has changed my life. It was the best decision I have ever made for myself. I am finally living again.
The support that you get from the people at BeLite is amazing. They have continued to stay in touch. The trip to Mexico for my surgery was amazing. The hospital there was better and cleaner than any I’ve ever been to here in the states. The surgeons are very attentive and really spend the time with you that is needed. I met my surgeon the moment I walked into the center. I had absolutely no issue communicating with any of the staff there. I literally speak zero amount of Spanish. They took great care of me before and after my surgery.
If you’re ready to start living again… this is the way to go!!! I’m so excited about my life I’m living right now and look forward to the life I get to live in the future.
Thank you for being such a great role model for others who are struggling to reach their target weight. In such a short time
It is truly special for the team at BeLiteWeight to hear from a patient that has found the long term success that they were hoping to achieve. 2 and a half years ago Tracy embarked on her journey with the Gastric Sleeve and chose our surgical team in Juarez Mexico led by Dr. Rodriguez and his excellent group of surgeons. She looks like a whole new person and we could not be more proud to share her letter!
Good afternoon!- I wanted to share my update with everyone. On the day of my surgery i weighed in at 430 pounds. Two and a half years after Dr. Jose Rodriguez Villareal did his magic i now weigh 115 pounds. I’ve dropped from a 34W to a size 4. People who haven’t seen me in years are amazed. I’m really amazed that I don’t have more loose skin than i do. (I recommend to anyone who has had this surgery to drink plenty of water whole you’re losing weight to help with the skin elasticity. ). Thank you so much to BeLiteWeight and Dr. Jose Rodriguez Villareal for saving my life!!
What an impressive job you have done Tracy!! With all of the hard work and progress you have made there is no limit to what is coming next!
We are thrilled to announce that all two of our Juarez surgical team members are now Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). Dr. Jose Rodriguez-Villarreal became a Fellow back in 2016 and just recently, Dr. Rafael Vizcarra have received their credentials as well. This is a huge accomplishment and great honor for them, and we are so proud to work with such a distinguished group of surgeons.
The letters F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name are an indication to the patient that the surgeon has passed a thorough evaluation of both professional competence and ethical fitness. Fellows are board-certified surgeons or, in unusual circumstances, have met other standards comparable to board certification. A Fellow has committed herself (himself) unequivocally to place the welfare of her (his) patients above any other consideration; to avoid division of fees with other physicians; to make her (his) fees commensurate with the services she (he) renders; and to refrain from performing unjustified operations.
The link above describes what it is to be a Fellow. (F.A.C.S.) and the section to read is #2.
It’s important to
distinguish the difference between an “Associate” and a “Fellow”. Some surgeons
pay a fee to become an “Associate” member, however, you cannot buy a
Fellowship, it must be earned. The College admits to its Fellowship only
those surgeons whose professional activity is devoted to surgical practice and
who agree without compromise to practice by its professional and ethical
The F.A.C.S. credential exists to foster the professional growth and
development of surgeons, to promote high standards and best practices in
surgical care, and to establish and maintain the patients’ confidence in the
ability and integrity of their surgeon.
You can check ANY surgeons F.A.C.S standing here (be sure to choose the country of the surgeon on the left side before searching): CLICK HERE
