Courage to Change My Life: Jeff’s 4 Year Update

Earlier this month we received a touching letter from one of our blinding success patients Jeff who has really turned his life around since we first chatted with him on the phone about 4 years ago. Read for yourself!

I just wanted to drop a quick note to the amazing folks are BeLiteWeight.com and give a quick update. It’s been four years since I found the courage to pick-up the phone and change my life.

When I decided to change my life, I was miserable and unable to do so many of the things that I wanted to do. I was always tired, miserable and my life was absent of anything to keep me going – except food.

When I called, I wanted to do the surgery fast! From the time I first called there was only three weeks until I left for the Gastric Sleeve.

The experience was amazing – and the years following the surgery have also been amazing! I feel great, look great and people tell me that I look so much younger now than I did then.

I can’t tell you how greatful that I am to everyone at Beliteweight for the amazing guidance that I received and for the support leading up to the surgery and the post surgical support that was fantastic from the minute I got home until I felt like I had it under control.

The process was worth it, the cost was unbeatable and the way my life was changed cannot be put into words.

The BeLiteWeight team is so proud of you Jeff! Keep up the hard work and you can achieve all of your goals and inspirations!

Stephanie’s Gastric Sleeve Weight Loss Journey

In 2010, Stephanie weighed 230 pounds. It was the heaviest she’d ever been. She tried to lose weight on her own, but one year later she was still over 200 pounds. She was depressed, embarrassed and ready for a change.

Dec. 2, 2011 was the first day of her new life.

Stephanie made the decision to have gastric sleeve surgery–and it was the best decision of her life.

She visited the gastric sleeve experts at BeLiteWeight, had the procedure, recovered and started seeing immediate results. A month after her surgery she was down to 177 pounds and happily snapping selfies of herself in the mirror. Three months after her gastric sleeve surgery, the inches were melting off of her thighs, waist and abdomen, and her photos showed a confident, happy woman standing in a workout tank-top and running shorts. She weighed 163 pounds and was ready to take on the world.

In March of 2012 she completed her first marathon. Stephanie’s decision to have gastric sleeve surgery, combined with her hard work, commitment and willingness to change her diet and exercise habits has paid off.

In March 2013, she put on a green and white striped dress and stood proudly before a photographer to show off a proud smile and a 145-pound body that just three years early had seemed impossible.

Stephanie’s is just one of the many success stories that the doctors at BeLiteWeight love to tell. If you’re ready to share your success story, contact BeLiteWeight today.

Moving to a New City? Lose Weight Like I Did!

I'm a Midwest girl, born, raised and educated. In the Heartland, we like our men with calloused hands, our politicians to have spines and our dinners to stick to our ribs.

That's just how it is. Our men work hard and play hard, our elected officials stand up for what's right, and we eat. Every occasion is an opportunity to eat a hearty meal–holidays, birthdays, Wednesdays after church.

Barbecue Preparing and eating big meals is part of our culture. It's also part of the reason why my weight got a little out of control. I'd been thinking that I should do something about it for a while, but every time I'd commit to a diet another barbecue or family gathering would come up and I'd find myself sidled up beside a heaping plate of potato salad, cold-cut sandwiches and beans.

Just about the time I was resigned to the fact that my weight would always be an issue, an opportunity came up at work for me to transfer to the Miami office.

Beach blanket bingo! This was my opportunity.

If I was going to move to "Party City," I was going to get myself in shape, make the most of it. I was going to get in shape, but I didn't have a lot of time–six months.

So I did a little research and found out about gastric sleeve surgery–relatively safe, cost-effective and the ability to help me take off 50 percent of my excess weight in six months. Perfect.

I had the procedure, recovered and began my new life, which now consists of a healthier diet and exercise routine.

Miami Beach Then I made the move to Miami.

Are you kidding me? I had no idea places like this existed, and I never anticipated that I could fit in so well and have so much fun.

The South Beach nightclubs. Miami Beach, and oh the men!

The men down here are amazing. They might not have calloused hands, but they sure dress better than the guys back home and they are all so toned and tanned. Turns out they like Midwestern girls, too–especially blondes who are in pretty good shape themselves.

Girls like me!

When I got down here, I dated three or four nights a week. And real dates, too. No standing around a keg eating potato chips. We go out dancing. We go to outdoor concerts in December. And we go boating. It's amazing, and not everything revolves around food, which is part of the reason I've been so successful at keeping my weight off.

If you're moving to a new city, do what I did: Use it as an opportunity to get in shape. You'll be glad you did.
