Love snacking but happen to be on a diet and need a healthy, fat shedding alternative? You don’t have to completely cut out snacks or finger foods from your regular eating habits, you can instead find recipes that are healthy and will help you lose that excess weight! One that is perfect as a party favor or when you just want to enjoy a light snack in between meals are these almond thins.
These are similar to Wheat Thins you can get at the store but without the high fat intake that those crackers have. Also, you’ll be saving money by making these almond thins instead. All the ingredients are simple enough and might just be sitting in your kitchen right now.
Here are all the ingredients you’ll need to make these healthy almond thins.
- 3 ounces of almond flour
- One egg white
- 1/8 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoons of onion powder
- 3/8 teaspoons of sea salt or healthy salt alternative
The directions for this recipe are very easy and the entire recipe only takes about twenty to thirty minutes to make about three dozen of the almond thins. You can plan accordingly if you want fewer to bake or need more.
- Get a small mixing bowl and put all the ingredients together, making sure to mix everything well. Set aside. Remember to not pack the almond flour but instead level it off with a knife. Otherwise the dough will not set properly.
- Prepare two sheets of parchment paper and start rolling out the mixture in between the two sheets. Roll out until about 1/8 inch thick.
- Next take a pizza cutter or knife and start scoring the dough to make the squares.
- Preheat oven to 325F. Place the dough into the oven for about twelve to fifteen minutes or until a golden brown color.
