Since having weight loss surgery, the carbohydrates in the shells and the nutrient value for the limited space in the stomach doesn&#8217;t seem worth trying to eat them. Many of us resort to &#8220;tacos in a bowl&#8221; which can get boring over time and missing that &#8220;crunchy&#8221; texture. Not to mention, but aren&#8217;t tacos meant to be eaten with your hands? Check out this delicious and crunchy, low-carb cheese taco shells recipe, and for good measure, we added an Awesome Sauce for topping it off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Low-Carb Cheese Taco Shells and Awesome Sauce\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-oeB6I5rKxs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Cheese Shell Ingredients:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp Minced Garlic<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 cup Favorite Cheese ( \u00bd cup Parmesan and \u00bd cup Cheddar)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix together<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a \u00bd cup scoop, spread cheese mixture on a parchment lined baking sheet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flatten into a circle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake 400 degrees for about 6-8 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned. Makes 2 shells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>To form the cheese shells:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Balance a wide handled wooden spoon (or use 2 spoons so that the base of your taco is wide enough for filling) \u2013 balance over 2 containers and lay the warm cheese circles over the spoon handle. Press down slightly. Let your cheese shells cool 4-5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Sauce Ingredients:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/3 cup Fat Free Sour Cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/3 cup Fat Free Mayo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp Cumin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bc tsp Ground Chipotle Chili Powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp Dried Oregano<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp Ground Coriander<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd cup Dried Chives<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bc tsp Dried Dill Weed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 TBSP Fresh Cilantro<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd lime \u2013 juiced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix all ingredients together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prepare your tacos how you like them, with any of your favorite fillings and top with a dollop of the sauce.
