Can The Moon Help You Lose Weight?

The moon affects people. Even scientists have no doubts about it. The moon helps regulate the ebb and flow of our planet in various ways. For example, plants often grow according to its phases and now evidence suggests it plays a role in determining our mood.

As unbelievable as it may seem, taking advantage of the moons cycles may actually help you lose weight. Today we will tell you how this can be possible. Our new astrological predictions can come true even faster than you think 😉

First of all, find the lunar calendar. Once you know the phases of the moon it will be easier for you to try introduce some new habits for each one.

NEW MOON
A New Beginning. This is the perfect time to start your diet. This phase is great for detoxification. In addition, it is easier to give up unpleasant habits such as smoking, alcohol or eating sweets. The body begins thorough self-cleaning, gets rid of deposits and toxins, excess fat and cholesterol. You are in great mental shape and you work efficiently. This is a great time for one-day cleansing treatments

FIRST QUARTER (After New Moon)
Elimination time. Your body burns Calories more slowly and absorbs more than it burns. Also, more water accumulates in the body. Try to replace in your menu:
– natural coffee for grain coffee
– tea for herbal infusions
– salt for with natural spices
– butter, margarine, meats, meats, mayonnaise for vegetable oils, fish, mushrooms, tofu and other soy products

FULL MOON
During this time, the body retains the most water. You are swollen, nervous, and explosive, and you lack strength. Choose products that have a calming effect, such as nuts, pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds. As well as products that facilitate the removal of water from the body like eggplants, asparagus, celery, parsley, cucumbers, berries, and citrus. DRINK MUCH MORE WATER THAN USUAL

LAST SQUARE ( AFTER FULL)
The body uses a lot of energy at this time so you can feel especially fit. Small sins in the diet are forgiven. JUST A LITTLE, let’s not overdo it 😉 In this phase you can also reach for more fiber found fruit or vegetables. However its best to choose those that facilitate digestion: e.g. cabbage in all varieties, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, fresh and dried plums.

As you can see, the phases of the moon can have a big influence on many aspects of our lives so we should plan accordingly. Although astrology may seem superstitious to you, it is worth paying attention to the cycles to see if it is myth or not 😉

Fiber – The Truth Or Big Myth

Dietary fiber is the only type of “harmless” carbohydrate and is mostly non-starchy carbohydrate that the human body cannot digest. Interestingly, in the past fiber was considered unnecessary and only litters our digestive system and impairing the absorption of various substances. As science and knowledge progressed there began many reports about the beneficial effects of fiber. It was supposed to protect against diabetes, heart attacks and some said it cured cancer. But now we know that it is what are the benefits and what we can leave for fairy tales.

A few facts:

Fiber, being a non-digestible filler, causes a faster feeling of fullness (full stomach). People who eat a lot of fiber, yes, they are actually leaner and healthier, BUT not because fiber has a beneficial effect on their bodies, but because they eat less (and provide the body with less energy and digestible carbohydrates).

Certain types of fiber feed on the bacteria that live in our colon. These bacteria convert cellulose and other fiber carbohydrates into certain vitamins and short-chain fatty acids that provide energy for the cells in the lining of the gut and reduce inflammation in the body. Another side Fiber can have a negative impact on our health, because it reduces the absorption of many substances, both harmful and beneficial (some vitamins and useful micronutrients).

Fiber also impairs the absorption of phytoestregens (and other hormones and similar substances from food, e.g. from legumes or industrial meat), which helps with estrogen dominance. Too much estrogen in the body of both men and women is not good and causes many diseases and diseases. There are theories and observations linking eating more fiber to removing estrogen from the gut and lowering its concentration in the blood.

Cereals and similar products contain a lot of fiber that is mainly insoluble fiber and does not give us much health benefit.

As you can see, it is a subject worth exploring. You hear so often that too much fiber can bring us more harm than good. But if you have just the right amount your body will thank you!

Let’s meet Cofi. Thanks to the Gastric Sleeve surgery and determination she not only got rid of her health problems but is now a… mom! Yes a mom! What wonderful news. Cofi struggled with many health difficulties due to being overweight. During one of her visits, she heard that perhaps she would never be able to have children. It must have been very difficult. Despite everything, Cofi did not break down and took fate into her own hands. Today her daughter is growing day by day and reminds Cofi that everything is possible. The Truth About Eating Eggs

There has been a long debate about if eggs are healthy or not. In the 1970s, many nutritionists and doctors were loudly against eggs because of the cholesterol in the yolk. Scientists were looking for a link between the amount of eggs eaten and elevated blood cholesterol levels. However today, eggs are considered one of the best nutrient sources.

New research on eggs suggest that they are particularly important for combating diabetes. A study performed at The University of Eastern Finland and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition studied the diets of men aged 42 to 60. Scientists followed them for 20 years and tracked their egg eating habits. The study concluded that people who ate an average of 4 eggs per week had a 37% lower risk of developing type 2 Diabetes compared to people that only ate 1 egg per week

The study also found that egg eaters had lower blood sugar levels on average. This is not the end of the positive side of eggs either. They are a source of protein that is easily absorbed by the body. This model protein contains all amino acids, including the essential ones that the body cannot produce on its own.

Other studies have also shown that people who eat eggs for breakfast (instead of carb-based breakfasts like cereals, muffins, or bagels), have reduced appetite levels for the remainder of the day. By providing less cravings for carbs, eggs are a great tool for body weight maintenance!

Vitamins – Effective Against Disease

How sick we get when we catch different infections depends on everyone’s immune system. We each have a very complicated system of defense that is regulated on many levels.

Due to aging or the course of chronic diseases the efficiency of the immune system decreases. That is why certain groups of patients are particularly vulnerable to disease and suffer from more severe infections of any kind.

All of us have compromised our immune system in the past and we are not able to rebuild it overnight. Therefore, at this particular time we must pay attention to what we can do to best support it.

Diet, lifestyle, and the ability to deal with stress are the most crucial tools at our disposal to prevent severe complications due to viral infections. If we properly manage each of these things it will improve our chances of recovery.

Vitamins C and D have been recognized as potential preventative tactics for severe infections. Simply taking these vitamins has the potential to save thousands of lives. Patients who are seriously struggling with the coronavirus at New York State’s largest hospital receive 1,500 mg of vitamin C three to four times a day.

Vitamin C in very high doses may even act as an antiviral drug, potentially killing different viruses. The Journal of the American Medical Association found that having a Vitamin D deficiency increases your risk of testing positive for coronavirus by nearly 80 percent.

Vitamin D also enhances immune function and allows the host organism to fight the viruses more effectively. Vitamin D also inhibits inflammatory processes which have been known to target vital organs.

But that’s not all, other vitamins also have hidden powers that you may not know about. For example Vitamin B1 also improves immune function, can reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes, and can help maintain healthy blood oxygen levels.

Vitamin B3 and B5 help to fight inflammation and also improves the mental state and condition of our brain. Vitamin B9 aids enzyme production which is vital in fighting off bacterial or viral infections.

We all should make sure we are getting enough of these vitamins and keep in our minds how important they are in preventing any possible fight with infection and viruses.

For weight loss surgery patients it is recommended to use patch vitamins, chewables, or liquids and are preferred over the pill form alternatives.

More Than Just Keto Ice Cream: ChocoMint

ChocoMint Keto Ice Cream

Summer is in full swing ! The weather really pampers us, we would like to say, the sun is exceptionally gracious this season. During the hot days, we are desperately looking for the best ideas to cool ourselves down. Like always BeLite is on alert and knows one trick that is really quite good. This will not only cool you down but also offers a great taste that will put a huge smile on your face. It will definitely make sure that your scorching concern will be a stranger to you now forever. Our new summer recipe will conquer your heart but not your weight, so don’t worry, and get ready for culinary delight that you will surely love.

First of all, the process of making ice cream can seem very difficult but it is not. You only need five ingredients and maybe a little patience because the freezing process still takes its sweet time… the sun is beating down on us so lets go ahead!

Here’s what we need :

1 1/4 cups of Heavy Cream

1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

1/2 Teaspoon of Mint Extract

3 Egg Yolks

1/4 Cup of Erythritol (or equivalent of your favorite non-caloric sweetener)

1 1/2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder

Preparation :

Heat the heavy cream and vanilla in a saucepan over low heat until simmering, remove from the heat and allow to cool to around to room temperature.

Whisk the egg yolks with the erythritol until the yolks are pale yellow, add the cocoa and mix well.

Whisk half a cup of the warm cream mixture into the eggs, then add the remaining cream and whisk well. It is very important to make sure the cream is only warm and not hot. If the cream is too hot it can cook the eggs and make the ice cream chunky!

Next pour the mix back into the saucepan and place over low heat while stirring continuously to thicken. Make sure to keep the heat low, you don’t want to scramble the eggs. This step can take up to 20 minutes. The custard will be ready when the mixture coats the back of a spoon.

Pour the custard mixture it into a serving container and place in the fridge to help it cool down before freezing. Stir this mixture every ten minutes. Depending on the size of your container it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to completely chill.

If you have an ice cream machine pour the cold custard inside and let the machine work its magic. When the ice cream is the proper consistency of soft-serve pour it into a container and place it in the freezer. You will have delicious ice cream very soon! If you don’t have a machine you can just keep freezing the chilled custard and it will still be ice cream! But be sure to stir it every fifteen minutes as it freezes for best enjoyment.

Enjoy and stay cool.

My Medicare Journey: Raeann 12 Months After Gastric Sleeve

”Even the furthest journey begins with the first step”

Did you know that if you or someone you know has Medicare part A and B that weight loss surgery could be a covered benefit?

The BeLiteWeight team knows this quote well and has once again helped a client through the hoops and requirements to have Medicare cover her initial weight loss surgery and as well as her revision surgery. Raeann agreed to share her results with all of you.

Raeann’s surgical weight loss ”journey” started quite early, she had Lap Band in 2007 but it had to be taken out in 2017. However, the story of our patient gets even more amazing. During her initial recovery from her Band removal surgery Raeann fell ill with unrelated thyroid issues but as she says, she never gave up! Eventually she recovered and had her revision to the Gastric Sleeve in July 2018! Today she proudly tells us about her achievements:

My starting weight with the band was 315 and got down to 100 pounds (I’m only 5’1″). I lost a total of 215 pounds with my band. In the year after my band had to be removed I regained up to 206 and then had my revision and I got down to 139.

Photos of her journey:

Our patient proves that it is worth it to be brave starting a new road, even when the destination seems very distant. If you or a loved one is suffering from obesity then you can also take this journey with us too! “If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet”
