Like most, I tried every diet or fad known to man and I yo-yo'd up the scale dieting my way to nearly 400 lbs and a BMI of 53! My self esteem and health both suffered. I researched surgery both in the states and in Mexico. I was sure the Lap-band was exactly what I needed. I was so blessed to find Beliteweight and was impressed immediately with the support from Joanne and her team. I was scheduled, given step by step guidelines to prepare and have my surgery. My arrangements were so orderly, it was simple from start to finish. |

I told everyone about it, the general comment was, "You are going to Mexico for surgery?" "Yep!" I said, with confidence and boy was I right, my experience could not have been better!
I flew in to San Diego and the driver picked me up and took me to the hospital. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. The Hospital Angeles is the nicest hospital I have ever been in (and I have been in many). It seemed more like a fancy hotel with wood and marble floors, chrome and glass fixtures, gorgeous woodwork and even had little wrapped soaps! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I don't speak Spanish, but I did very well with the staff. Didn't have any problems with communication.
All of my pre-op work was very thorough and done just as it was done here in the states for my many surgeries I have had. I was so comfortable every step of the way.
I didn't have any complications during or after the surgery at all, I felt great. The next morning I headed home with no discomfort on my flight.
After I got home, I received a couple of follow-up calls from the Beliteweight team to check on me and my progress. I think that is so awesome that they call and check on you, I have never had that happen before with any of my other many surgeries.
I am excited about my Lap-band journey and grateful for all the help from Belite to get me here. I started at 391.5 and now down over 117 lbs! I look and feel better than I have in years (and have never been asked out more in my life!) I feel like I have a fresh start in life and more hope for the future than ever!
